CHICAGO (Michigan News Source) – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Wednesday night and backed Vice President Kamala Harris’ commitment to gay marriage and abortion through all nine months of pregnancy.

The lesbian attorney general apparently thinks Republicans like former President Donald Trump want to upend gay marriage if  elected, and blasted the now 6-3 conservative U.S. Supreme Court.

Nessel yelled from the podium, “I got a message for the Republicans…you can pry this wedding band from my cold dead gay hand.”

Nessel went on to say, “In 2011, [Kamala Harris] refused to defend California’s ban on same-sex marriage.” That’s during Harris’ tenure as the state’s attorney general.

She also claimed that when the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) struck down Roe v. Wade in June 2022, Harris “reminded” Nessel that “protecting people’s lives and defending their rights is our job.” The SCOTUS decision simply returned abortion regulations to the states, and did not outlaw the procedure.

In November of 2022, Michigan voters passed a law so abortion with no restrictions up until the moment of birth became a part of the state Constitution.

In typical Whitmer administration fashion, Nessel posted an announcement on social media about her Wednesday night speech and chose to swear.
