HOWELL, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Former President Donald Trump stopped by Howell for a press conference at the Livingston County Sheriff’s office on Tuesday afternoon to highlight increased crime under the Biden-Harris administration.
In typical Trump fashion, he didn’t hold back.

“People don’t know the real Kamala but I do,” Trump said from a podium with Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies standing behind him. “She’s so far left. [We need to] stop the Kamala crime wave that is going on at levels that no one has ever seen before.”
Trump mentioned the “defund the police” movement that’s been a staple of the Democratic Party. The remarks in Howell came just a few miles from Lansing where Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer said in 2020 that she supports the “spirit” of defunding the police.
Trump cited “government statistics” as he spoke about the Biden-Harris administration’s track record on crime. “Since Comrade Kamala Harris took office her administration’s crime stats shows presided over a 43% increase in violent crime.” Trump Continued, “[And a] 58% increase in rape, 89% increase in aggravated assault, 56% increase in robbery.”
The Livingston County Republican Party (LCRP) worked to get President Trump to visit the area. Since the event was a press conference, not a rally, supporters lined up along Trump’s route through Howell.

Trump also highlighted that his administration would work to invest in hiring and retaining law enforcement officers. Among other things, Trump said he plans to “crack down on Marxist” district attorneys.”
“Over the last 4 years, the Marxist left has waged a vicious war on our law enforcement in our country,” Trump said.
Trump plans to visit other battleground states this week while the Democratic National Convention takes place in Chicago.
