DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Automaker Stellantis is sounding the alarm to union workers that it could lay off as many as 2,450 of the 3,700 union workers employed at a truck plant near Detroit.
The job cuts would impact the Stellantis Warren Truck Plant. Workers there build an older version of the Ram 1500 pickup called the Tradesman. The company developed a new version of the truck in 2018, and for the 2025 model year there’s a new Tradesman.

The Associated Press reports that job cuts may be lower than the current estimate due to early retirement offers that are under way already, according to Stellantis spokeswoman Jodi Tinson.
Stellantis is shifting production of the new Tradesman to the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Sterling Heights.
