GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – It’s official! Ground has been broken on Michigan’s first rehabilitation hospital for children.
The Joan Secchia Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital is being built on Wealthy Street across from the Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids. This hospital will join eight others like it nationwide.
The hospital will be the first of its kind in the state and the ninth in the country.

The two facilities will be connected with a sky bridge. It is expected to be open in 2026.
