MANISTEE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Manistee County Sheriff’s Office has a new $365,000 patrol vessel paid for with federal dollars which will help keep area waters safe.

It’s 27-feet long, which is four-feet longer than the previous boat. It helps with dive operations and can hold more people on board.

Other upgrades include shock-absorbent seats for rough waters, an extra-powerful dual motor for higher speeds, and a 360-degree thermal camera.
