ST. IGNACE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – People traveling “up north” or packing in one last summer adventure on Labor Day may need to adjust their weekend travel plans slightly.

The Mackinac Bridge Authority will close the bridge on Monday, Sept. 2 from 6:30 a.m. to noon for the Annual Mackinac Bridge Walk.

Participating in the Mackinac Bridge Walk is free, and registration isn’t required. In addition, there’s a variety of activities on both sides of the bridge, like visiting Mackinaw City or Ocqueoc Falls in the Lower Peninsula. Folks can also explore St. Ignace or Fayette Historic State Park in the Upper Peninsula.
