BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Vice President Kamala Harris will be in Michigan on Wednesday in an attempt to garner votes from Republican and Independent women, and use reproductive freedom as the common unifier.

Harris will participate in a moderated conversation about what Democrats have consistently said is an attack on reproductive freedom by former President Donald Trump. He survived an assassination attempt on Saturday and is attending the Republican National Convention this week in Milwaukee.

Harris’ visit will come five days after President Joe Biden stopped by Detroit to reinforce his commitment to staying in the race. Top Michigan Democrats including Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters, and Rep. Elissa Slotkin ignored his visit.

In addition, Vice President Harris will travel to Kalamazoo to energize supporters at a Biden-Harris campaign block party.

This week’s visit will mark Harris’ fourth trip to Michigan this year, and seventh since taking office. Michigan and its 15 electoral votes are predicted to swing November’s election.
