MELVINDALE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The man accused of killing a Melvindale police officer over the weekend and eluding police for more than a day is no stranger to violence or prison time, according to his record.
In fact, those same records show a discharge from parole last month. Documents indicate 44-year-old Michael Lopez spent most of the last 12 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections. He served minimum sentences for carjacking and assaulting a police officer.
