HANCOCK, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Hancock City Police say a suspect in what they called “politically motivated crimes” has died.

Officials said the suspect called the police and said he needed to “confess a crime involving an ATV driver within the last 24 hours.” When police arrived they discovered him dead with a gunshot wound to the head.

Officials say the crimes reported in the city of Hancock appear to be politically motivated, involving victims who displayed Trump election signs as well as law enforcement appreciation stickers and flags.

They found a four-wheeler used along with electronic devices. He’d been accused of running over an 80-year-old man who is currently in critical condition.
