DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Federal prosecutors announced a settlement with Wayne County regarding improvements to conditions for jail inmates with disabilities. The agreement will be in place for three years and will include monitoring of facilities.

The county will need to revise the suicide prevention program, ensure administration of medication occurs, provide access to physical, dental and mental health services for inmates with disabilities and create procedures to identify inmates with disabilities when they arrive at the jail.
