PARIS (Michigan News Source) – Shay Colley is competing in her second Olympic games for the Canada Women’s Basketball National Team. She played three seasons for MSU from 2017 through 2020 averaging 11.1 points per game.

In her first game of the 2024 Olympics, Canada fell to France, 75-54, on Monday. Shay played 29 minutes scoring 11 points with six assists and three rebounds. In her career, she is averaging 7.8 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.5 points per game. She currently plays professionally in France and started her career in 2021 in Hungary.

She says on representing Canada, “It’s always an honor to represent my country at any international competition! Although this is my second Olympics, it still feels like my first. Japan being my first, we really missed the fans and excitement they bring to the game. So having that this time will be fun! I’m excited to play against the best players in the world.”

Shay started her Canada career at the age of 12 when she was on the cadette national team in 2012 as they won a Bronze Medal in the U17 FIBA World Championship. Canada will next play at 6:30 a.m. on August 1 against Australia in Group B.
