ALLEGAN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Allegan native Hannah Antkoviak has made the semi-finals in the 400-meter hurdles at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Ore. The Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) track athlete ran a 56.39 for a 12th place finish. She is just 0.72 seconds off of the eighth-place finisher in Akala Garrett from Texas who had a 55.67 time.

Antkoviak is a four-time NAIA National Champion and has won back-to-back outdoor 400-meter hurdle championships. She was also the NAIA National Runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles (13.19). She won the NAIA championship with a 57.72 time at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Earlier this year, she earned two NAIA Indoor National Championships in the 600-meter dash and the 4×400-meter relay. She set a new NAIA record in the 600-dash with a time of 1:28.80 and then helped the relay team win recording a 3:42.90 time. For her accolades, she was named the NAIA’s USTFCCCA Midwest Indoor Women’s Track Athlete of the Year.

She will now run on Saturday, June 29, at 5:41 p.m. Pacific Time in the semi-finals running with participants that are represented by Nike, Adidas and from Arkansas, Southern California, Texas, LSU, Houston, and Georgia.
