ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan New Source) – One person died on Monday afternoon and emergency crews life-flighted another to the hospital after a plane crash south of Ann Arbor in Washtenaw County.

Michigan State Police, the National Transportation Safety Board, and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating. According to officials, a flight instructor and student were on board for a training at the time of the crash; their names have not been released.

Information from online flight trackers shows the plane, a Piper PA-28 registered to Silvered Wings LLC out of Howell, took off from Ann Arbor Municipal Airport.
