DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders recently revealed he experienced a “health scare” during Father’s Day weekend. In a social media post, the Detroit Lions legend mentioned that he had an issue “related to my heart” and expressed gratitude to the healthcare professionals who cared for him. Sanders also shared that he is now prioritizing his well-being and health.

Having retired in 1999, Sanders remains the Lions’ all-time leader in touchdowns and rushing yards. The Lions’ official X account sent get-well wishes to Sanders, who amassed 15,269 rushing yards over his 10-season career with the team.

Sanders, who will turn 56 next month, made a public appearance at the NFL draft in Detroit this past April.
