DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Ford is recalling 552,000 pickup trucks due to a transmission issue. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that this problem could cause the trucks to unexpectedly downshift into first gear, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects certain 2014 Ford F-150 models.

Owners will receive notification letters by mail by July 5, instructing them to take their vehicles to a Ford or Lincoln dealer for a powertrain control module software update. A Ford spokesperson stated that the software update is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2024.
