DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – A new contract reached between the Canadian government and border agents averted a strike that would have disrupted international travel.
The union and the Treasury Board agreed on a tentative deal which means traffic and goods will continue across the Ambassador Bridge connecting Detroit and Windsor, Ontario.

The bridge is one of the most important crossings in the country carrying around 25% of all goods between the U.S. and Canada each year. The agreement covers approximately 9,000 border agents.
