LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Summer is right around the corner, but Michigan officials are already thinking about Christmas.

The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) is searching for the state’s 2024 Christmas tree. The tree must be spruce or fir, at least 60-feet tall with a maximum trunk diameter of 30 inches, free, and easily accessible from the road.

If you would like to nominate a tree, email the name, telephone number, a photograph of the tree, and information about its size and location to christmastree@michigan.gov.  Nominations can be made to DTMB through August 19.

The tree will be lit during Lansing’s annual Silver Bells in the City celebration on November 22.
