DETROIT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Biden and Trump presidential campaigns and support for the candidates is appearing quite a bit different this time around with less than six months to go in the race.

Former President Donald J. Trump is spending more time in the courtroom than on the campaign trail and President Biden is spending a lot of his time trying to corral his pro-Palestinian voters back into supporting him while they continue to protest the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Not the usual display of support for the candidates this year.

The usual plethora of political yard signs and flags adorning people’s yards and the bumper stickers that are usually plastered all over cars and trucks during an election season have not been appearing in public yet. Is it possible that in this divisive political world, voters are afraid of letting anyone know who they are supporting?

Regardless of the absence of an over-abundance of MAGA signs along the roadway, things are still looking up for Trump in Michigan with Robert F. Kennedy now set to appear on the Michigan ballot as a “spoiler” and the “uncommitted” Democrats still threatening to stay home on election day.

Trump leads in Michigan according to recent polling.

A recent Fox News poll conducted from April 11 to 16th with 1,126 registered voters showed that Trump has a lead in Michigan with 42% of the vote, followed by Biden at 40% and Kennedy at 9%. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.

And while the pro-Trump yard signs and bumper stickers aren’t popping up like spring tulips and daffodils have been in the state, there is one thing that has remained the same. That’s the support of what has been dubbed as “Boaters for Trump.”

MAGA boat parade scheduled for June in lower south east Michigan.

Michigan Trump supporters are preparing to set sail for a MAGA adventure on June 15th with hundreds of boats, yachts, dinghies, sea planes, helicopters, drones and a 74-foot flagship boat expected to rally under the banner of “Make America Great Again.”

The flotilla event starts in Lake St. Clair off the 9 Mile Tower and ends when boats pass under the new Gordie Howe International Bridge near downtown Detroit.

Trump supporters will gather to support former president on his birthday weekend.

And this is not just any old boat parade – it’s a nautical event to celebrate the birthday of the former president. Organized by the Michigan Conservative Coalition (MCC), this aquatic extravaganza promises to be the talk of the town. Or at least that’s the goal.

Rosanne Ponkowski, the spokesperson for the MCC, couldn’t contain her excitement in the press release declaring, “Michigan is the Great Lakes state. Nothing will show off that better than a massive MAGA boat parade. Combine the expected nautical display with the opportunity to celebrate President Trump’s birthday weekend will make the day even more special.”

This isn’t the first time Ponkowski’s has been involved in a Trump boat parade. She said, “Our 2020 MAGA flotilla, that traveled a similar course, had hundreds of water craft involved. We have all seen television coverage of the awesome Trump flotillas in Florida and, frankly, the Michigan MAGA Boat Parade was much bigger and more fun.”

Ponkowski promises, “Our Michigan MAGA Boat Parade is expected to be even larger in 2024!”
