LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Despite Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s insistence that Michigan is “getting things done,” U.S. News came to a vastly different conclusion in a recent study.

Michigan came in no. 42 overall out of the nation’s 50 states in the Best States rankings. U.S. News compiled the list based on thousands of data points in areas like health care, education, infrastructure, public safety, natural environment, fiscal stability of state government, and the opportunity the state affords its residents.

The results are a stark contrast to what Whitmer has been trying to sell for the past few years. In addition, it is not good news for the second term governor who’s been hinting at a presidential run in 2028. Michigan’s economy and health care are both ranked no. 41 with education coming in at no. 32. She’s based this term in office on a platform of “fight like hell” for extreme abortion rights, and upped the per pupil funding in her latest budget while simultaneously pilfering the public school teachers’ retirement account.

Infrastructure, which has been boasted about in Whitmer’s “fix the damn roads” campaign is apparently lagging, with infrastructure sliding in at no. 30. Opportunity is no. 27 and while that alone is far from impressive, it does mark the state’s best score. While Michigan’s small businesses continue their upward climb to recovery after Whitmer’s strict and ambiguous COVID-19 shutdowns in 2020, she has offered up millions of dollars in taxpayer money to usher in Communist Chinese businesses, like Gotion in Big Rapids.

The 10 Best States in the U.S. are: Utah, New Hampshire, Nebraska, Minnesota, Idaho, Iowa, Vermont, Washington, Florida, and Massachusetts.
