LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan residents taking a weekend getaway or traveling “up north” for the Memorial Day weekend will see fewer orange cones on their road trip.
Lane restrictions will be lifted on 55% of road and bridge projects statewide to ease traffic delays. Beginning at 3 p.m. Friday, May 24, and continuing until 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 85 out of 154 projects statewide will have lane restrictions removed.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) reminds drivers that equipment and certain traffic configurations may remain in place.
The American Automobile Association (AAA) estimates more than 1.3 million Michigan residents are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home during the Memorial Day holiday weekend. That marks a four percent increase from 2023.
