EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The past year appears to have been a challenging one for former Michigan State University football coach Mel Tucker. He lost his coaching job last September amid proven sexual harassment allegations, and now his wife has filed for divorce.
In addition, Jo Ellyn Tucker is accusing her husband of pulling money without notice from their joint funds, including $1.5 million to pay his legal fees.

An Ingham County judge granted Jo Ellyn and Mel Tucker a mutual restraining order preventing “the dissipation of marital assets” last week. She filed the original divorce complaint on April 5.
Prominent rape survivor and activist Brenda Tracy sued Mel Tucker last year for sexually harassing her. An MSU investigation supported those allegations. Tracy said Tucker harassed her over the phone when the two formed a friendship after she spoke at the university. He claims it was consensual phone sex. The litigation is ongoing.
