FLINT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – On Friday, the union representing nearly 750 nurses at Ascension Genesys Hospital said a strike will start 10 days from that date if an agreement isn’t reached on a new labor contract.
Teamsters Local 332 sent a notice to the hospital in Genesee County warning of a strike beginning on May 20. Nurses are threatening to walk off the job at 7:30 a.m. that day without an agreement.

Nurses are seeking higher pay and lower nurse-to-patient ratios in their new contract.
The strike would affect the hospital and cardiac rehabilitation center in Grand Blanc Township, along with the Genesys-Hurley Cancer Institute in Flint.
