IONIA, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – An electric co-op in Ionia County needs help in finding those responsible for 14 separate incidents of gunshot damage to the co-op’s transformers, regulators, and other electric system equipment. The damage has accumulated over the past year.

HomeWorks Tri-County Electric Cooperative said the incidents happened in Clinton, Eaton, and Ionia counties, caused more than $250,000 in damage, and resulted in electric outages for HomeWorks members. The company is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the responsible party.

The co-op said the majority of the incidents happened overnight. Anyone who hears gunshots should report it to their county’s central dispatch non-emergency line.
