LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The balance of power in Michigan’s House has been even since November when two Democratic representatives won mayoral races in their home districts.
On Tuesday, special elections will be held to fill the seats of former Representatives Lori Stone and Kevin Coleman. Whoever wins those seats will determine whether the majority goes to Democrats, as it did in November 2022, or if the power will shift. Up until last November, Democrats had been enjoying the first “blue” majority in the last 40 years.
