WASHINGTON (Michigan News Source) – A salmonella outbreak is prompting Trader Joe’s to pull fresh basil from shelves in 29 states, including Michigan.
The California-based company says it pulled the “Infinite Herbs” basil after 12 people got sick. The CDC tells consumers to throw it away or return it to Trader Joe’s.

Along with Washington D.C., the 29 states where the contaminated herbs were distributed include: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
