SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – After more than 20 years, South Haven officials are considering bringing back lifeguards to its beaches.
City council members heard a presentation about a three-year plan to implement lifeguards once again.

This year’s phase-one would focus on training while 2025 would emphasize recruiting a staff of lifeguards ready to go by next Memorial Day weekend.
South Haven is being sued for negligence by the families of two swimmers who drowned in Lake Michigan in 2022.
