DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – For the first time since 2018, the Detroit Lions will have a late draft pick in the first round. The 2024 NFL Draft on Thursday night brings the 29th pick in the first round for the Lions after the successful season they had.
The biggest positions the Lions will be looking at are linebacker, cornerback and the defensive line. Three major prospects they are looking at are West Virginia’s Zach Frazier (OL), Kool-Aid McKinstry from Alabama (CB), and Missouri’s Darious Robinson (DE).

Frazier can play in the interior of the offensive line and help with the injury prone linemen the Lion’s had in 2023. He is a nasty, hungry lineman with great characteristics for the offense. McKinstry is needed in a depleted secondary and has great awareness and ball skills. Robinson is a versatile defensive lineman that has played many positions and can be utilized with Aidan Hutchinson.
“We are in a good spot right now,” says Executive Vice President and General Manager Brad Holmes. “I want to thank Dan and his entire coaching staff as they play a huge part in our process. I appreciate all the time and effort that they put in for us and this organization.”
