LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A 72-year-old priest from Clinton County has been sentenced to 4 to 20 years in prison after stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from fellow retired and elderly priests.
In addition, David Rosenberg must pay restitution to the victims’ estates. That amount will be determined later by the court.

Rosenberg worked as Director of the Lansing Catholic Diocese’s St. Francis Retreat Center in DeWitt between 2015 and 2021. He stole approximately $780,000 from three priests and funneled the stole funds to his charitable foundation, FaithFirst. The 965-acre Retreat Center property includes apartments that house retired priests.
Attorney General Dana Nessel said, “Stealing from our elderly and vulnerable adults, especially from a position of authority, is a significant crime and this sentence reflects that.”
