OAKLAND CO, Mich. (Michigan News Source) — James Crumbley has been found guilty of 4 counts of involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of four Oxford High School students killed by his son on November 30, 2021.

The jury began deliberations began late Wednesday afternoon and continued Thursday after prosecutors and a defense attorney for Crumbley rested their cases. They deliberated for ten hours letting the judge know they wanted to continue deliberating Thursday evening past 5 p.m.

Crumbley was tried on four counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the deaths of four students, Madisyn Baldwin; Tate Myre; Justine Shilling and Hana St. Juliana. He faces up to 15 years in prison on each of the four counts.  His wife Jennifer, has already been convicted of the same charges. Prosecutors have maintained that Crumbley was the adult “in the best position” to stop the murders that happened and could’ve taken the easiest, “most glaring” steps to prevent the shooting, like securing the murder weapon, but didn’t.
