ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Amtrak will be cutting back on some routes this summer.

The company announced its temporary cutback on train routes for needed upgrades to infrastructure. The changes will be with Wolverine Trains 350 and 353, which run between Chicago and Pontiac.

As of May 6th, Amtrak will operate on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only, dropping their Monday through Thursday routes.

The work will be on smoothing some of the turns to allow the train to keep faster speeds.
