WASHINGTON (Michigan News Source) – Michigan native and Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair Ronna McDaniel is stepping down from her position effective March 8.

McDaniel, a Northville resident, announced her plans on Monday morning. She’s in her fourth two-year term in the position.

“I remain committed to winning back the White House and electing Republicans up and down the ballot in November,” McDaniel said.

Her announcement comes one day ahead of Michigan’s Presidential Primary. Former President Donald Trump has come out ahead in other state primaries, while former South Carolina governor and Republican foe Nikki Haley rallied in Michigan over the weekend.
