DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Jeep Cherokee owners may want to take a second glance at their vehicles after Chrysler recalled more than 330,000 of the Jeep model for steering wheel issues.
What vehicles does the recall cover?
The recall is for 338,238 of the 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L and 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles.

The automaker in documents posted earlier this week by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the upper control ball joint and steering knuckle may separate and cause the wheel to fall outward according to the Associated Press. This could result in losing control of the vehicle and a heightened risk of crashing.

Takata Air Bags: Roughly 67 million airbags have been recalled which involves 19 automakers.
Ram: Particular Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickup trucks have been recalled due to tailgates not latching properly, and potentially opening while being operated. There are about 1.2 million vehicles affected.
Subaru: Some Subaru Ascent vehicles have been recalled as a result of fire risk. The NHTSA recommended that owners should park their vehicles outside until repaired. The agency said that 271,694 vehicles have been affected.
Tesla provides major recall almost a month ago.
Near the end of January, Tesla recalled 200,000 vehicles for concerns about backup camera malfunctions.

The decision came after drivers made 81 warranty claims as of the end of January involving Model Y, S, and X vehicles that were equipped with the “Full Self-Driving” option.
Despite concerns regarding the vehicles, the company expressed optimism for the next year.
“In 2024, our vehicle volume growth rate may be notably lower than the growth rate achieved in 2023, as our teams work on the launch of the next-generation vehicle at Gigafactory Texas,” the report said. “In 2024, the growth rate of deployments and revenue in our Energy Storage business should outpace the Automotive business.”
