“I want to congratulate Donald Trump on his victory,” she said in a statement. “And I want to thank the people of South Carolina for using the power of your voice. No matter the results, I love the people of our state. I love what we accomplished together. And I love how we united during our worst challenges and tragedies.”

She later expressed that more important than her political future, was beating President Joe Biden in November, but voiced concerns about former President Trump’s ability to do so.

“I don’t believe Donald Trump can beat Joe Biden,” she said in a statement. “Nearly every day, Trump drives people away, including with his comments just yesterday.”

Following her loss, Haley hosted roughly 400 supporters at the Detroit Marriott in Troy on Sunday evening according to the Detroit News.

“The problem is, you’ve got a candidate who cannot win a general election,” Haley said in an interview with the Detroit News, “Because he refuses to acknowledge the concerns of the 40%. He wants the Republican Party to be his own playpen.”

“By the time I left being governor, we were named the friendliest state in the country, the most patriotic state in the country, and the number two state in the country people were moving to,” Haley said Sunday night.

Haley highlighted the United States’ $34 trillion debt, and how the country is borrowing money to pay on the interest payments on the debt.

“China owns some of that debt,” she said in the speech, “And for the first time we’re paying more money in interest payments than we are in our defense budget; you know who notices that? Russia, China, and Iran.”

Russia, China and Iran,” she said according to WoodTV. “And I would love to tell you that Joe Biden did that to us. But I’ve always spoken in hard truths and I’m going to do that with you today. Donald Trump and our Republicans did that to us, too.”
