DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – UAW President Shawn Fain gave a Facebook Live update on Friday afternoon, offering no new information on an expanded strike. However, he did seek to encourage the rank-and-file.
“We have one tool,” Fain said. “Solidarity.”

In addition, Fain said there has been serious movement from General Motors and Stellantis, but he pulled no punches as he attacked Ford CEO Bill Ford for his comments earlier this week. He said Ford is seeking to divide the UAW, but encouraged membership to stand strong.
“We won’t be used by Ford,” Fain said.
Fain also called on non-union automakers to fight for auto jobs everywhere.
The Stand Up Strike is entering its sixth week.
