LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Sure, “he’s a good boy!” But should he be on public land? That’s what the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) wants to find out during a upcoming public meeting regarding dogs on DNR-controlled land.

The DNR will host a public hearing Thursday, October 19 over proposed language updates to a rule governing the use of leashed dogs on state-managed land under the DNR’s control.

The proposed amendment will bring the rule into alignment with its original intent and reduce confusion for land users and law enforcement personnel.

The meeting is at 2:30 p.m. in the Hutchinson Conference Room of Constitution Hall in downtown Lansing.
