LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Airbnb is implementing its global prohibition on parties at rental properties this Halloween weekend, employing an “anti-party” artificial intelligence system.
This technology identifies and blocks bookings for entire homes that exhibit “potentially higher-risk” characteristics, considering factors such as the length of the stay, proximity to the listing, and last-minute bookings.

Last year alone, this system prevented 2,400 individuals in Michigan from booking entire homes.
This measure, initially introduced as a temporary response to the COVID-19 pandemic, has now evolved into a fundamental community policy for Airbnb, leading to a 55% reduction in reported parties since its inception in 2020.
