LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Great Lakes state boasts than 13,000 miles of designated state-managed trails, and everyone is encouraged to explore them during Michigan Trails Week.

Michigan Trails Week is September 17-24, and officials with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) says that’s the perfect time to explore those state-managed trails, along with thousands of miles of local, county, and federally managed trails and pathways.

In addition, Michiganders can walk those trails in style. The DNR announced that Great Lakes Proud is selling merchandise and apparel, with a portion of proceeds going back to help the state preserve its parks, trails, and waterways.
