LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A day after the Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s “What’s Next Address,” the Michigan GOP held a press conference to discuss what’s next on its agenda, mainly pursuing potential election corruption.

“Our goal is to address the recent reports of election corruption uncovered in Michigan,” the MI GOP Leadership Board said ahead of the meeting.

The press conference kicked off with a short video clip of President Joe Biden saying,

“[Secondly, we’re in a situation where we have put together, and you guys did it for our administration — President Obama’s administration before this — we have put together I think the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics.”

MIGOP Chair Kristina Karamo was the first to speak and shared her agreement with the President’s statement.

“That’s one of the rare things he’s said that was actually accurate,” Chair Karamo began.

She proceeded to highlight an investigation into GBI Strategies, after members of the MIGOP Leadership, including Philip O’Halloran, Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party’s Election Integrity Committee and Lori Skibo, Director of the MI GOP’s Poll Challenger Program gained and shared documents obtained about an alleged voter fraud scheme.

“The police report from 2020 revealed that GBI Strategies has been in operation since 2014,” according to the Gateway Pundit, “And, the investigators found that GBI Strategies was paid $1,571,386 by the Doug Jones for Senate campaign back in 2018. That was just one race they were involved in.”

Chair Karamo added that the organization had received millions from other sources, including the current President.

“The GBI Strategies who is supposedly a voter registration organization has received millions from the democrat party,” she said, “They received almost a half a million dollars from Joe Biden himself, and now this organization who is under investigation for potentially fraudulent voter registrations had a police raid.”

For Chairwoman Karamo, there were multiple elements to ensuring voter rights.

“Our voting rights are necessary for our freedom,” she said. “Our voting rights are comprised of three elements: ballot access, ballot security, and preventing illegal ballots from nullifying legal votes.”

“This should not be a partisan concern,” she added later, “This is an American issue, a fundamental issue of our liberty.”

O’Halloran and Skibo were also in attendance and shared how law enforcement sought to do raids and did complete several but haven’t followed through.

“We have an attorney general who looked the other way, essentially just shuffled this investigation aside, even though it was being aggressively pursued by her own Michigan State police, which she is the commander of, and also by the fantastic Muskegon Police Force,” O’Halloran said.

Beyond the election integrity concerns, the MIGOP leadership shared how they are navigating a change in the Michigan presidential primary to Feb. 27 which would have resulted in significantly less representation at the national Republican National Convention due to violating RNC rules.

“So we worked out a plan with the RNC to make sure that we protect the representation of voters statewide while simultaneously making sure that we also protect our full delegation of 55,” Chairwoman Karamo said. A plan that would involve hosting a congressional convention instead of congressional Caucus leading up to the state convention.

Skibo and the rest of the leadership encouraged others to help investigate potential voter fraud, including elected GOP Representatives in Lansing, but voiced her concerns for the people who experienced voter fraud.

“I am very concerned that no one is really that upset that there are actual victims in this report,” Skibo added, “Real everyday citizens who live in the city of Muskegon, their information was stolen and used, it’s in the report- who is going to protect them? I am very very concerned as much as I am concerned about the general election, I am extremely concerned about our primaries.”
