Rogers, a former state representative who served in the U.S. House for 14 years, is making arrangements and putting his team in place, according to an email sent to Michigan News Source.

John Stineman, GOP consultant and advisor to Rogers, told Michigan News Source “There has been overwhelming public support and encouragement from Michigan leaders, friends, and family for Mike Rogers to run for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat in 2024. He is very seriously considering running and will be announcing his plans soon.”

The U.S. Senate seat is open in 2024 after current Senator Debbie Stabenow (D) announced she is retiring. A handful of candidates have already thrown their hats in the ring, including current Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin, who is being called a frontrunner.
