ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan will be heading over seas this summer as the women’s basketball team heads to Italy and Croatia on an international trip. The team will head out on August 14 and be back in Michigan on August 24.

Head coach Kim Barnes Arico says, “There is nothing like the experience of going on an international trip as a program. The time you spend with each other is invaluable for building a team and your culture, while gaining extra practice time and competition in preparation for the upcoming season. For many of these student-athletes, it is their first time traveling to another country and is a life-changing experience.”

The last three days of the trip will be in Dubrovnik, Croatia, on August 21. They will face the ZKK Ragusa Dubrovnik on August 22. They will be able to see the Old City and City Walls while in Croatia.

This will be the third time the women’s basketball team has traveled abroad going in 2013 and 2017. They will have 10 practices in Ann Arbor for the trip in July.

Barnes Arico adds, “We are so thankful for the support our donors and alumni who help make these trips possible. We know we would not have these opportunities without them.”
