CLEVELAND (Michigan News Source) – Emoni Bates, a Ypsilanti, Mich., native, played this past year for Eastern Michigan University after transferring after a year at Memphis. His one year at EMU led him to being drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round last month.
Bates has now played three games this summer in the NBA Summer League for Cleveland and is averaging 16.3 points and six rebounds a game shooting 41.5 percent from the floor. In his first two games he was 10-of-30 from the floor and then came a Monday night break out game.
