CADILLAC, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Health officials are confirming a report of algae blooms on Lake Cadillac in Wexford County.

The blooms were located earlier this week. Testing confirmed the blooms were on the east and north shores.

Health officials say the algae blooms release toxins that can be harmful to aquatic life, pets, and humans. Everyone should avoid contact.

Algae blooms can form when there are high nutrient levels within bodies of water along with warm temperatures.
