LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Excessively dry conditions have lead to an increased wildfire risk across Michigan, and officials say a burn ban is still in effect.
In most parts of the state there has been no measurable rain since May 19, and no rainfall is in sight.

Due to the dry weather, officials say Michiganders must be careful when engaging in activities that could possibly lead to a wildfire. Camping, outdoor grills, smoking materials, chainsaws, and all-terrain vehicles all have the potential to throw a spark and ignite a fire.
The warning comes after crews battled and eventually extinguished a 2.400 acre wildfire in Crawford County that broke out over the weekend. Investigators say that fire was caused by a campfire on private property.
