On July 31, Amtrak will shut down its Monday through Thursday service for Wolverine Trains 350 and 353, which run between Pontiac and Chicago.

Those trains will only operate on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only.

The temporary suspensions are a result of infrastructure improvements being made by Amtrak and the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of October.
