TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Nine months after officials say someone tampered and changed the flow of the Platte River, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan announced that charges have been filed.
Sixty-two-year-old Andrew Blair Howard of Frankfort faces one count of tampering and one count of vandalism at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

The charges carry a maximum penalty of up to 6 months in federal prison, up to a $5,000 fine, up to 5 years of probation, and mandatory restitution.
