ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan was given two major Big Ten track and field awards this week in the Coach of the Year produced the Athlete of the B1G Championships. Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Kevin Sullivan was named the Coach of the Year while Ziyah Holman was given the Athlete of Championships award for the conference championships.
This is the first time that Sullivan has won the women’s outdoor track and field Coach of the Year award. He also won the award for the indoor season in February. Five women have won individual B1G titles guiding his team to the B1G outdoor championship. It was the sixth time in program history that the team won both the indoor and outdoor championships.

Holman finished the B1G Championships with four medals winning the 400-meter dash with a program record time of 50.90. She was then second in the 200-meter dash setting a new program record at 23.08. She was also on the 4×400 and 4×100 meter relay teams that were second and third. Her 400-meter time of 50.90 set a new B1G and program record.
