DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – The 90th season for the Detroit Lions will be an exciting one coming off a strong 2022 season.

It will kick off with Thursday Night Football on September 7th against the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City as they head West to Arrowhead Stadium for the first time since 2003. This is only the second time Detroit will open up their season against a Super Bowl Champion as the last time came in 1967 against Green Bay.

The opening game will be the first of five nationally-televised games. Their second Thursday Night Football game will be in week four at Lambeau Field against Green Bay. This will be the first time that Detroit has played Green Bay on Thursday night.

In Week 8, Detroit will host a Monday Night Football game against the Las Vegas Raiders. This will be the first time since 2018 that they will have Monday Night Football game in Detroit. It will only be the third time that the Lions have faced the Raiders on Monday night and the first since 1990.

Thanksgiving will be the fourth national game in their classic game on Thursday, Nov. 23, at 12:30 p.m. when they host the Packers. It will be the 22nd all-time Thanksgiving Day game and the first time the two have seen each other on that day sine 2013. Detroit will then have a chance to have a “Flex” schedule during Weeks 12-17 to be on national television.
