DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Detroit has been picked, along with three other NHL teams, to play in the Global Series in Sweden November 2023. They will join the Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators, and Toronto Maple Leafs for four regular season games at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
Detroit will play Ottawa on Thursday, Nov. 16, and then Toronto on Friday, Nov. 17. ON Saturday, the Senators face off against the Wild and then on Sunday, Nov. 19, Toronto takes on Minnesota.

Forward Lucas Raymond says, “Sweden is a really fun and cool country. There are a lot of fun things to do, culture to experience and landmarks that have been there for a long time. Stockholm is an exciting city.” Raymond is a native of Gothenburg and is a 2020 NHL Entry Draft pick taken fourth overall by Detroit.
There are currently six Swedish players on Detroit’s roster in Raymond, Jonatan Berggren, Simon Edvinsson, Robert Hagg, Magnus Hellberg, and Gustav Lindstrom. Raymond says, “I’m very excited to be able to play an NHL game in my home country in front of family and friends. It will be a great experience.”
Tickets will go on sale on May 2 and the Red Wings will have fan travel options that include airfare, hotel, tickets, ground transportation, sightseeing, select meals and many more items.
