DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Build-it-yourself children’s teddy bear store “Build-A-Bear Workshop,” which boasts half-a-dozen locations in Michigan, is now offering a drag queen dress option.
The toy is modeled after RuPaul, a popular drag queen who hosts his own reality show called “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

Although the drag queen bear is not available in stores, it is accessible under the “Bear Cave” icon at the top of the Build-A-Bear website.
When Michigan News Source accessed the Bear Cave, a screen popped up which read, “You are about to enter the Bear Cave. The Bear Cave is filled with unexpected collabs and unique plush gifts, intended for shoppers 18 and older. Please confirm you want to proceed.”
The site, which advertises adult gifts for “after dark” is accessible to kids. The RuPaul option can be seen here.
As always, the internet had something to say.
Remember: there’s absolutely no agenda to groom your kids. Don’t be ridiculous. On an unrelated note, @buildabear is selling a drag queen stuffed bear for children. pic.twitter.com/c0uB5Odcfj

Love Ru Paul… man they have ruined drag queens with what they are doing with children.

Does it shake it’s junk in children’s faces? If not then this is an old school drag queen bear and doesn’t represent modern day drag.

Obviously gross and flagrant grooming behavior but…
how? It’s a bear. How is a bear in a dress different than a drag bear? Do they give it 5 o’clock shadow? Do they normalize a bulge or is it just ac little uglier? Legitimately confused on how that works.
