ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Making their 11^th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the University of Michigan women’s basketball team will be a no. 6 seed in the tournament. The No. 18 ranked Wolverines will travel to Baton Rouge, La.,  to take on no. 11 seed UNLV in the first round on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Baton Rouge Regional.

This will be their fifth trip in six seasons to the NCAA Tournament as they are 10-10 in the tournament. Last year they went to the Elite Eight which was a program first and have gone to back-to-back Sweet 16s. Head coach Kim Barnes Arico will coach in her 10^th tournament as four were at St. Johns University. She is 13-9 all-time reaching the Sweet 16 three times. She is the only UM women’s basketball coach to take the program to six NCAA Tournaments.
